The Ford Transit 4 Wheel Drive van was originally introduced in 2016. This large-sized van works for carrying multiple passengers and cargo. And believe it or not, it can also be used as a home – with many opting to live in a van to combat the high cost of rent in many parts of the USA.

Since then, things have only gotten better!

It’s 2020 and Ford has introduced its new Transit model.

The 2020 Ford Transit is more advanced than its predecessor and we are sure you’ll love it!

The 2020 Ford Transit: What’s It All About

The original release of the Ford Transit did not have a four-wheel drive (except in Europe), however now the latest 2020 Ford Transit does have this option.

Whether opting for a cargo or a passenger van, the new 2020 Ford Transit has power-sliding doors which can be opened by the press of a button. This can be done from the door itself, from the inside of the van, or from the keys.

The All-Wheel Drive which exists keeps a tight balance between the wheels at the front and at the rear, ensures that the van remains steady on the road. So if the van is on a muddy or slippery road, there is a feature to adjust accordingly to drive safely on such a road.

Seats can accommodate up to 15 passengers and offers slightly over 100 cubic feet for storing cargo.

It also has the unique and optional features of FordPass. This is an app to be installed on a smartphone and can access some of the features of the van – such as stopping it, unlocking it, or locking it.

The unique features of the 2020 Ford Transit makes it a van worth buying!

The 2020 Ford Transit: What You’ll Love About It

But what makes the 2020 Ford Transit different? Why should you consider upgrading if you have a previous model or switching if you have another van of choice?

Ford, the world’s premier automobile manufacturer, also holds the distinction of being America’s top van sales company. The Ford Transit, in particular, is exceptional amongst vans – even amongst vans produced by Ford.

While most of Ford’s vans have not gone through major upgrades – and have had long periods before upgrading models, the Transit is the latest project which Ford is working endlessly to improve. The 2020 Ford Transit is already miles ahead of the 2016 model.

One of the most environmentally-friendly aspects of the 2020 Ford Transit is 2.0-Liter EcoBlue Bi-Turbodiesel I-4. This offers a cooler piston and the turbodiesel is less noisy.

Ford Co-Pilot

Here are some of the appealing features of the Ford Co-Pilot system available with the 2020 Ford Transit:

  • Blind-spot monitoring: this allows the van to monitor any nearby vehicles. This is especially helpful when backing out of a parking space – alerting the driver so that the van does not hit any other cars.
  • Cruise control: automatically controlling the speed at which the van is driving.
  • Active parking: this eases with the parking process, particular for pulling in and out of parking – both parallel and perpendicular
  • Cameras: A camera in both the front and rear of the van.

On The Inside

With the usual features of cupholders, the 2020 Ford Transit has USB ports and color display screens (with touchscreen availability).

The van has the ability to connect to WiFi. It also has synergy with other applications such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The WiFi has 4G speed and can connect up to 10 different devices.

On The Outside

The outside of the van also has many great features. The grille is an upgrade from the 2016 model and has better cooling than the previous model. The wagon model has LED-surrounded lighting.

Customize The Van

Depending on the model, there can be custom configurations to the exterior of the van. In total there 92 possible configurations, which is an upgrade from teh 2016 model which had a maximum of 64. This can include the type of engine to the number of seats.
